Rank them (1 = most important; 3 = least important) as factors in your life. Make a commitment to apply this most important tool to your life everyday as well as the other two. Memorize these tools and keep thinking about how best to live them out. Meditate on what and where you want to be one year from now, five years from now, ten years from now. Envision the future picture for your life, in all its spectacular glory. The word picture can be used as both a noun and a verb—it’s both something you have, and something you do. Your picture may be more than metaphor but literal—an actual photograph or page torn from a magazine or even a memorable saying or favorite poem. Or perhaps FOCUS YOUR VISION is best articulated in words or bullet points that outline your goals and/or describe a detailed picture of your ideal future. Whatever the case—picture or words or both—it’s important to have something tangible that you can hang on the wall or bulletin board and/or carry in your wallet or handbag. Pull out your vision at least once a day as a constant reminder of what it is you’re aiming to achieve. It will generate the motivation to drive you forward past your obstacles towards your goals.
